RT7781系列为强化高效能电流模式脉波宽度调变(PWM)之返驰式转换控制器，并加入零功率损耗(PowerZeroTM)专利技术于控制器中。创新的零功率损耗技术尤其在输出轻载及空载提供了出色的节能解决方法，以及其它四个主要节能功能：移除X电容泄放电阻(BRR)技术的设计用来当交流输入电源移除时，X电容电压可经由IC内部的高压装置泄放到地，所以X电容泄放电阻可以移除。此外，结合高压装置也可以提供快速的启动功能，无须在外部使用启动电阻。内建无损耗Brown-In(BRI) 及Brown-Out(BRO)功能无须外部分压侦测电阻，不仅可以减少外部零件数，同时可以降低功率损耗。四模式脉波宽度调变控制器提供了降频模式和突发模式(Burst Mode)来达成节能要求。RT7781提供完整安全的电源供应器保护机制，包括过温度保护(OTP)、过载保护(OLP)、过压保护(OVP)、次级侧整流器短路保护(SRSP)以及电流检测引脚开路保护。RT7781提供了几个版本应用，展示于RT7781版本表格中。笔记本计算机适配器的应用中，RT7781提供用户一高效率、低外部零件数及低成本的AC/DC电源供应器。
